A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, also known as Srila Prabhupada was the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciouness, or ISKCON. A pivotal meeting in1922 with Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, a leader in the Gaudiya Vaishnava denomination, shaped his future path. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta asked him to bring the teachings of Lord Krishna to the Western world. Thus, Srila Prabhupada dedicated the rest of his life to sharing Krishna consciousness, initiating a global movement.
