Swarupa Damodara Goswami
Svarupa Damodara played a central role in Mahaprabhu’s lila. He was almost always by His side. When Mahaprabhu accepted sannyasa, Svarupa Damodara also entered the renounced order and became known simply as “Svarupa.” He was especially dear to Mahaprabhu because he understood His heart completely, what He wished to express, what He intended to do, even what remained unspoken. Svarupa Damodara seemed to know it all.
