Sri Surdasji

Surdas was a 16th-century Hindu devotional poet and singer whose heartfelt verses in praise of Lord Krishna made him one of the most revered voices of the Bhakti movement. Though blind from a young age, he possessed remarkable spiritual vision, literally seeing the form of Krishna. His guru Vallabhacharya (founder of Pushtimarga) eventually appointed him as the chief singer of the Srinathji Temple. Every evening, Surdas would compose a new bhajan at the temple, accurately describing the attire of Srinathji.
