“Sombari” means Monday, and he was named so because he served food to visitors on Mondays. He lived a selfless, ascetic life with only a cloth bag, a tiger skin, and a chillum. Radiating peace and kindness, he never preached or wrote, his life itself was the teaching. He spent summers in Kakrighat and winters in Padampuri, where despite freezing cold and heavy snow, he wore only a small cloth and refused any shelter.
