Sri Sindhu Tai Sapkal

Sri Sindhutai Sapkal, lovingly known as Mai, turned her deepest suffering into boundless compassion. Born into poverty and married at just ten years old, she was cat out by her husband and community. Alone, she gave birth to her daughter in a cowshed. But at the point that she was about to take her own life, she realized that a life that can be thrown away can instead be dedicated to serve. From abandonment and hardship, she went on to become the mother of over 1400 orphaned children, giving them incredible opportunities she never had.
