Sri Sahajanand Saraswati

Swami Sahajanand Saraswati began as Naurang Rai, a boy from Ghazipur who walked away from home in search of liberation. He took sannyasa young, mastered scripture, and could have disappeared into the safety of philosophy. Instead, he stepped into the dust of Bihar’s fields. Seeing peasants crushed under colonial rule and landlord tyranny, he founded the Bihar Provincial Kisan Sabha and later the All India Kisan Sabha. He did not abandon renunciation—he expanded it, offering his life to the suffering millions.
