Sri Pant Maharaj

Sri Pant Maharaj was born as Srikrishna on Krishna Janmashtami, September 3, 1855, in Daddi, on the banks of the Ghataprabha River. His grandmother in Belgaum renamed him Dattatreya, foretelling his divine connection with Lord Dattatreya. At age 15, an incident with the saint Balmukund Maharaj (Balavdhoot) became pivotal. After mocking his cousin’s Guru Saint Balappa, he became seriously ill but was miraculously healed through the saint’s grace. Filled with repentance and devotion, he met Balavdhoot (Balappa), who recognized him as a destined disciple and spiritual successor.
