Narsinh Mehta (c. 1414–1488 CE), revered as the “Adi Kavi” of Gujarati literature, was one of the earliest and most influential saints of the Bhakti movement in western India. Born into hardship yet transformed through divine devotion, his life became a living example of humility and surrender. Through timeless bhajans like “Vaishnav jan to tene kahiyere…”, he taught that true spirituality lies not in status or ritual, but in understanding the suffering of others.
