GuruSri Mahendranath Gupta
Sri Mahendranath Gupta was married with kids and lived as a householder sannyasi, which meant he practised renunciation in his heart but also took care of his family. He first met Sri Ramakrishna on 26 February 1882 at Dakshineswar, which changed his life. He documented his Master’s conversations in his diary, which were later published as the "Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita“ (The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna) between 1902 and 1932. Sri Mahendranath Gupta ran a small school at his Calcutta home, where Paramahansa Yogananda was once his student. He died in 1932 on the next morning, after given his 5th book for printing, at his Amherst Street residence, which is now called Kathamrita Bhavan and is a pilgrimage site for devotees.
