Sri Chinmoy (Kumar Ghose)

Sri Chinmoy was an Indian spiritual teacher who spent 20 years at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram before moving to New York in 1964 to share his teachings. He emphasised meditation, love, devotion, and inner peace, founding over 350 meditation centres and leading Peace Meditations at the United Nations. A prolific author, musician, artist, and athlete, he also founded the Oneness-Home Peace Run to promote global harmony. Sri Chinmoy passed away in New York on 11 October 2007.
