Pramukh Swami Maharaj (1921–2016) was a saint whose humility, compassion, and devotion touched millions around the world. At 17, he left home to join Shastriji Maharaj, receiving initiation as Narayanswarupdas Swami in 1940. At just 28, he was appointed Pramukh (President) of BAPS. Under his leadership, BAPS built more than 1,100 mandirs worldwide. Leaders such as APJ Abdul Kalam, Kofi Annan, and the Dalai Lama admired his integrity and peaceful presence.
