Sri Sahajananda Saraswati

Swami Sahajananda Saraswati (1925–2007) was the founder of the Divine Life Society of South Africa. In 1948 he encountered Swami Sivananda’s Practice of Karma Yoga. He travelled to India to meet Sivananda, who offered a brief instruction: “Learn to type and make tea. The qualities will come.” Sahajananda understood its meaning later: spreading spiritual knowledge through literature and serving the poor. Over his lifetime, Swami Sahajananda initiated more than 300 humanitarian projects.
